Yvonne DeLeon, President
As my year as President ends, I look back and remember the experience with
excitement. In truth I did not know what to expect and I just hoped that I
could represent the Chamber as well as all my predecessors have. Well my
time is up and I have to say that it went by quickly. I can’t really
pin-point my favorite part of my Presidency, because I enjoyed every single
moment. Of course the highlight was the State of the City event, where I had
the opportunity to speak in front of more than 250 people. I did not think I
could do it, but I have learned that even the most shy person grows with an
organization like the Montclair Chamber of Commerce. I owe gratitute and
thanks to my fellow Board Members and business colleagues, who gave me their
support and cheered for me all the way. In particular, I want to thank Kelly
Johnson our Chamber Director for being patient and teaching me the ways of
the Chamber, step-by-step. I would not have been able to navigate through
the year without her help and direction. The entire experience has been
priceless; I recommend it! I look forward to my role as Past President and
will continue to support and assist the Chamber, our Board of Directors, and
our new incoming President, Rosa Rangel. |
