AMBASSADORS
Montclair Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and their
Mission
Ambassadors of the Montclair Chamber of Commerce are part
of a prestigious group that act as the welcoming arm of the Chamber and are
the force behind our special events, ribbon cuttings, grand openings and
networking socials.
Ambassadors serve as a liaison between the Chamber and
its members. They keep in touch with current members and motivate new ones.
This contact helps increase both membership retention and member
involvement. Ambassadors are always on the look out for member prospects.
Ambassadors provide a source of information on Chamber
programs, products and services.

Licon, Chili’s Grill & Bar
I have been with Chili’s for almost 17 years now and I can honestly say that
it’s the greatest company to work for. Never before have I experienced a
company that does so much for its employees and for the community. They
challenge you to learn the business. They hold you accountable for your job
and actions, and they reward you for a job well done.
I have also been fortunate enough to watch the company expand their
community involvement by taking part in the St. Jude Hospital for Children
donation month. During the month of September, Chili’s asks its guests to
color a chili pepper for the kids of St. Jude for a dollar. Chili’s as a
company raised over 8 million dollars last year and has committed to 50
million dollars in 10 years for their newest research building.
I am honored to be a part of the Montclair Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors
and look forward to future events. So come and visit me and my staff at the
Montclair Chili’s on Monte Vista Avenue so that we can welcome you to
Chili’s!
Ambassador Activities
 Sue Steadman, Ambassador Chair
Ambassador Regina Horton, Ambassador in Training Kelly Martin and I joined
Board Members Lynn Donk and Mario Marin as well as our Chamber staff, Kelly
and Melina, in representing the Chamber at Montclair Day at the LA County
Fair. Between the Chamber and the City, Montclair had the largest turn-out
of any of the cities which shared our day. Our day included a lunch, a horse
race dedicated to Montclair, a reception and a float ride in the parade
where we tossed beads to the crowd. The parade was followed by the Community
Hero Award Ceremony where Montclair honored Community Hero Peggy Banas and
Young Adult Community Hero Alexus Sarzo. Director Lynn Donk presented a gift
of recognition to each of them on behalf of the Chamber, while Councilman
Bill Ruh represented the City.
I hear rumors that next year Montclair will get an exclusive day. I can’t
wait!
